BANGALORE: The two-day cancer screening camp organised by HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd,  witnessed the participation of nearly 50 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) at Legislative House in city. To create awareness on cancer, the camp was held from December 12-14 exclusively for MLAs. The elected representatives underwent a series of check ups. Most of the participants were at high risk, because of their age, sedentary lifestyles, and lack of physical activity. Among them some were found to have abnormal reports and were recommended for detailed check up.Dr B S Ajaikumar, chairman of HCG, said, “Early detection of cancer can be achieved primarily by education and preventive health checkups. The leader of the constituency needs to set an example. By taking this step they will encourage the members of their ward or constituency to undergo preventive health checkups. The incidence of cancer in Karnataka is on the rise and if detected early, leads to better medical outcome.”
