A shocking double murder in a posh Gwalior colony on October 14 has sent shockwaves throughout Madhya Pradesh. The victims, 80-year-old Indu Puri and her 55-year-old daughter, Reena Bhalla, were brutally murdered in their home.
Within 24 hours, police apprehended the main suspect, identified as Irfan Khan, the family’s former servant, along with three accomplices. According to authorities, Irfan Khan had been dismissed from the family’s shop four months earlier over a financial dispute, which fuelled his desire for revenge.
Gwalior Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh revealed that Khan contacted two friends from Hyderabad to assist in the crime. On the night of the murder, the group entered the Garden Home Society, where they robbed the victims and subsequently strangled them.
The gruesome discovery was made by a domestic worker who alerted neighbours after receiving no response at the flat. When police entered, they found the bodies in flat number 322.
Following the incident, residents of the Garden Home Society expressed concerns over security, citing previous thefts in the area. Despite raising alarms, they feel their pleas have gone unheard by the local authorities. Police are currently interrogating the arrested suspects as investigations continue.
