Students wandered in the world of rocket making on the sixth day of Space Science Week celebrations as they participated in ‘Make the Rocket’ session at the Sarabhai Science Park in Kakkanad on Tuesday.
Around 2,400 students from various parts of the state participated in the event with the majority of them trying their hand in rocket making. The session was handled by V P Balagangadharan, senior scientist, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram.
Students got to learn various aspects of rocket making and rocket technology. Balagangadharan interacted with the students and cleared their doubts and fulfilled their curiosity on rocket technology and Mars mission.
Classes on the theme - Space for Human Safety and Security - was held.
The Oxford School, Kollam, St Albert’s Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam, and St Paul’s Public School, Thrissur, bagged the first, second and third places respectively in the quiz held on Tuesday.
The winners will get a chance to take up a launch visit in Thumba, said Indira Rajan, director of Sarabhai Science Park.
