HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted a status report in a sealed cover to the High Court on Monday on its ongoing investigation into the alleged liquor syndicates scam.A division bench comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar is dealing with a petition filed by OM Debara urging the court to monitor the probe.The petitioner complained that several public servants, who included ministers, MLAs and other political leaders, had received bribes from the liquor mafia and the government was suppressing facts and trying to protect the ministers and MLAs.ACB officials brought to the court two large trunk boxes loaded with documents and other material seized in its recent statewide raids on liquor outlets, offices of syndicates, and residences of excise officials. Taken aback by the tomes, the chief justice asked the ACB officials to take trunk boxes back. Keeping the sealed cover with it, the bench posted the case for hearing on Thursday.
