PUDUCHERRY: Union Minister of State V Narayanasamy, who was in Puducherry on Tuesday, lost no opportunity to highlight issues of impropriety by members of the ruling All India NR Congress party, when he spoke about possible Central action against Minister P M L Kalayanasundaram who has been absconding after he was denied bail in a case of impersonation.Recalling two other instances, Narayanasamy noted that AINRC legislator Karthikeyan, who allegedly assaulted a Congress activist and had been absconding, was given anticipatory bail by the Villippuram court, while the government was trying to hush up the murder of AINRC activist Arumugham by a fellow party member.Stating an inquiry by the police of the Union Territory would not be impartial, Narayanasamy demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI. Dwelling on the details of the incident, the Minister said the murder had taken place near the Rangasamy’s residence when Arumugham was leaving after meeting the CM. The Minister even went so far as to claim that the police’s cyber cell knew who passed the information on Arumugham to the culprits over the phone from the Chief Minister’s residence, but that the police didn’t take pursue that line of investigation. Narayanasamy also said that the murder was linked to the killing of a school boy who was cut into pieces and dumped into the Ossudu lake in a sack a few years ago. Those investigations too have not seen light of the day, he pointed out.He also ridiculed the senior superintendent of police (Law and Order) V J Chandran for making a statement that a CBI probe was not necessary in the murder of Arumugham. Stating that over 30 murders have taken place in the last five months since the Rangasamy government came to power, he said it was creating an environment of feat which affected the development of tourism in the union territory.
