KOCHI: Amidst the ongoing organisational issues, the KSU state committee which met here on Monday discussed the issues regarding the resignation of Maharaja’s College chairman A A Ajmal. The meeting held under the supervision of NSU(I) national secretary Taranga Gogoi at the KPCC Bhavan in Kochi, received complaints from the KSU leaders. As many as four complaints were filed before the NSU(I) officials probing the incident. The complaints were filed by A A Ajmal, KSU Maharaja’s College unit vice-president Nisam P S, district vice-president Lino John and state general secretary P Y Shajahan. The I group demanded action against Ajmal for his resignation as Maharaja’s College union chairman. However, the V D Satheesan group demanded action against those who attacked Ajmal. The Satheesan group made it clear that as many as 230 delegates, including 60 unit presidents, district vice-president and state secretary will resign from the state committee if no action is taken against those who attacked Ajmal. However, the NSU(I) officials asked them not to take any immediate action. The officials promised to take appropriate action, sources said.Ajmal resigned as Maharaja’s College union chairman last week amidst the raging controversy and issues within his party. In his resignation, Ajmal had mentioned that he decided to quit following the harassment by the members of his party as well as from the rival party members.Ajmal was attacked by his party members on the previous day. The issue had created ripples within the party as a section of KSU workers alleged deliberate attempts to tarnish the image of the party. Meanwhile, there were reports that Ajmal had to resign following allegations of financial misappropriation.
