Amitabh Bachchan denies taking Rs 6.1 crore to endorse DD Kisan
As per The Hindu, Bachchan was required to shoot for a day, with the campaign playing for a year on TV, outdoor, print, radio, Internet and cinema platforms till April 30, 2016.

New Delhi: Three days after reports emerged that actor Amitabh Bachchan took Rs 6.1 crore to endorse Doodarshan's Kisan channel, an official statement from his office denied the claims. The statement by Amitabh Bachchan said, "I wish to state that I haven't entered into any contract with Doordarshan and neither have I received any money from them."

He although acknowledged that he had worked with advertising agency Lowe Lintas on campaign for DD Kisan but there was no contract between him and Prasar Bharti. "I work pro bono on various issues and DD Kisan is one of them," the statement added.

The 24x7 Kisan channel was launched to telecast updated information on agriculture and related subject for the benefit of its target audience including cattle rearers, bee keepers, poultry owners, mechanics and craftsmen.
