CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has censured an anganwadi worker, who filed two writ petitions for the same course of action, following her ignorance and apologies.Though the conduct of D Lakshmi deserved a severe action including criminal contempt of court, Justice K Chandru observed that considering the fact that she was a poorly paid employee and that she was a woman, gave an opportunity to express her regret for her conduct. And she sought the forgiveness of the court for her conduct in suppressing vital information. Accepting the regret, the judge refrained from initiating any further proceedings against her.Lakshmi was a noon-meal organiser in Vadugappattu panchayat government high school near Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai. The collector directed her to hand over the charge to another person in March 2011. Challenging the collector’s order, she had filed the present writ petition, suppressing the fact that she had already a writ petition against the same order but failed to get any stay in the matter.
