Anjalli loses sexual harassment case
Giving a double blow to the axed IAF officer, a Court of Inquiry says she has failed to prove the sexual harassment charges against three IAF officers.

Bangalore: A day after a military court ordered IAF Flying Officer Anjali Gupta's dismissal from service, she has also lost the sexual harassment case she filed against three senior IAF officers.

The Court of Inquiry examining the charges has unanimously concluded she has "failed to prove her complaint".

"The three-member-court of inquiry, headed by Air Marshal Bandopadhya, in its findings, has concluded it is the unanimous opinion that Anjali Gupta failed to prove her complaint of sexual harassment," Gr Cpt Ajay Masson IAF's Senior Personnel Staff Officer and its Legal Officer Wg Cdr P C Prakash said.

"No action needs to be taken against Sqn Ldr R S Choudhary, Wg Cdr V C Cyriac and Cmde A Chopra against whom Anjalli Gupta has made charges of sexual harassment," the inquiry report concluded.

The IAF officials, however, refused to comment on the status of the complaint lodged by the cashiered officer at the Vimanapura police station in the city, saying "it is for the police to give an update."

Masson clarified that it was incorrect to say that Anjalli was the first woman IAF officer to face court martial proceedings.

Records indicate that some women officers have faced similar proceedings but Masson refused to give details.
