THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: To have a break from summer camps and tuition classes, a few hours of active participation playing ‘Jenga’ and ‘Beyblades’ made Sunday evening quite special for the kids. Getting to know about the competition, coaxing their parents, they made their entry into the shop at Kuravankonam that hosted the event. Crowding around the tables for a healthy competition, fifty-four boys searched through their most wanted character of beyblades. It could be an Earth eagle, Evil befall, Cyclone Herculeo or the others. Striking the tops on to the beyblade stadium, they anxiously waited to see when their top stopped spinning, hitting against the opponents. In the final, the best of three played against each other. In another corner, girls were see biting their nails concentrating on the wooden blocks of jenga, a game involving physical and mental skill. Trying to build the blocks by placing one on top of the other, without making them fall for their downfall in the game, without blinking eyes, they seemed to be concentrating on their game, at the same time on the moves of their opponents. The winners of the gaming competition organised in association with Funskool walked away with board games and other goodies.
