HYDERABAD: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is getting ready for a face-off with PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana at the latter's fiefdom in Vizianagaram on Monday. Defying police orders, Naidu was all set to organise a big demonstration in Vizianagaram against liquor syndicates.Though, Naidu planned a massive public meeting on Saturday, he postponed it as followers of PCC chief also wanted to organise a meeting on the same day at the same venue and at the same time.It is learnt that Botcha had asked the district police for permission to organise a meeting on Saturday to expose TDP leaders who were involved in the liquor scam and in the process foil TDP's plans to expose him. "As the PCC chief himself wanted to explain to the people about the liquor syndicates, I changed the date of my meeting,'' Naidu said. However, the PCC chief too cancelled his meeting on Saturday stating that he would organise the meeting exactly on the day when Naidu organises one.Later, Naidu spoke to Vizianagaram SP asking him to give permission for the TDP to hold a meeting at a later date. But, sensing the mood of both the parties, the police clamped Section 144 in the town and banned all public meetings for a month.Irked over this development, Naidu declared that he would organise the meeting in Vizianagaram come what may. "I will proceed to Vizianagaram on April 23 and organise a meeting against Botcha," Naidu declared on Saturday. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Naidu wanted the Congress to clarify over the legacy of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. "Congress should clarify whether it owns the corruption and misdeeds of YSR or not," Naidu demanded. On Kakinada SEZ, Naidu demanded the state government to order a CBI probe into the allotment of 8,000 acres to SEZ. The lands should be given back to farmers and all the cases registered against the farmers should be withdrawn, Naidu said. On the arrest of Bhanu, accused in Suri murder case, Naidu said police should establish the political links in the murder.
