Bhagavata Mela on May 4, 5

HYDERABAD: The two-day Bhagavata Mela dance drama festival will be organised at Saliyamangalam agraharam in Tanjore district of Tamil Nadu on May 4 and 5. The Bhagavata Mela will be conducted as part of the annual Narasimha Jayanthi festival to be held from May 4 to 6.The Bhagavata Mela dance drama is a unique temple theatre art form which is a blend of devotion, music, drama and dance. These dance dramas in Telugu were in vogue in Saliyamangalam agraharam for the past 367 years.Two Bhagavata Melas will be held this year. While Sri Prahaladha Charithram dance drama will be held on May 4, Sri Rukmini Parinayam  on May 5.The event is being organised by Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Bhagavata Mela Baktha Samajam of Saliyamangalam.
