Bigg Boss hears from TV's big boss
There seems to be trouble in store for Salil Ankola and it's not from the Bigg Boss but from another big boss, Ekta Kapoor.

Mumbai: A week old, Sony's latest reality show, Bigg Boss, is already creating a lot of buzz. And now a court injunction stopping one of its stars from participating in the show is going to fuel the show's popularity.

There seems to be trouble in store for cricketer-turned-actor Salil Ankola, and it's not from the Bigg Boss but from Balaji Telefilm's big boss, Ekta Kapoor.

On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court passed an injunction restraining Ankola from participating in any television programme apart from those produced by Balaji Telefilms.

Ankola had signed a contract when he started acting in Balaji Telefilms' serial Kasturi, according to which he would not act for any other production house that would compete with Balaji till Kasturi is completed.

Now, Bigg Boss's broadcaster Sony says it is ready for any eventuality.

"There is a solution to everything. We go on with this show and that's the beauty of it. We might take on another celebrity and that could become the surprise element," Sony's Creative Director, Sandeep Sikand said.

Thirteen celebrities and 28 cameras monitoring their every activity, Bigg Boss claims to be the mother of all reality shows.

With reality shows so far in India testing the strengths or the talents of the contestants, Bigg Boss is gaining eyeballs for its inherent voyeuristic format.

"You put people in one room and see how they react. Audiences love this concept because they see real people reacting to real situations," CEO, Indiantelevision.com, Anil Wanvari said.

So, while we don't know how much of the show is real and how much is acting, it sure has managed to create the right buzz.

"We got to know the inside stories of what’s cooking between these celebrities," a fan of the show said.

"It's exciting how each celebrity is going to react to the other one," another fan said.

Whether the show has become a scripted reality or not can be a topic of debate but what cannot be denied is that in one week's time Bigg Boss has certainly left its impression on the public mind.

What's your reaction?
