CHENNAI: More than 200 biomedical industry players congregated at the Global Health City for a one-day Biomedical 2012 conference on March 12. The conference was a platform to learn from successful case studies in India and forge strategic partnerships with the industry’s movers and shakers. The event brought together multi-national pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, industry leaders and other key stakeholders.The chief guest Prof Alan Murray, Academic Director and Professor of Cardiovascular Physics, UK, spoke on the growing role of clinical engineers in the health care industry and their role in ensuring device safety for patients’ safety and care. He also discussed medical technology and safety. Other eminent speakers of the conference were industry pioneers such as Narayan, Silicon Labs, Sivaraman Rajagopalan, Singapore, Jibu Mathew, Head of UL Llab, and Mohanashankar Sivaprakasam, IIT. The day-long conference was of great help to students of biomedical engineering, biomedical engineers, clinical engineers, biomedical technicians, doctors, nurses and technicians.
