Bombay HC orders striking BEST workers to resume work immediately

Mumbai: The Mumbai High Court on Tuesday directed BEST workers to resume work immediately after the BEST management moved court saying the workers were holding the city to ransom.

BEST officials told the court that nearly 50 lakh students were affected due to the strike.

The BEST drivers and conductors went on strike in protest against the new computerised scheduling system. The drivers and conductors had a dispute with the management over the system.

BEST runs the public bus service in Mumbai, a major feeder for the local trains.
