CHENNAI: To mark the World Heart Day, a team from the Madras Medical College held a blood pressure check up camp at the Chennai Metropolitan Bus Terminus (CMBT) on Thursday. The camp was inaugurated by MMC Dean Kanagasabai. As high blood pressure is one of the primary markers of heart disease, it is imperative for all adults above 30 years to undergo regular BP checks, said the Dean. The camp, hosted by the Apollo Pharmacy inside CMBT, also determined the waist circumference for 523 people, of whom 15 per cent were found to have BP which was on the higher side. They have been advised to take necessary medical and lifestyle recourse, he said.
