HYDERABAD: The Task Force police arrested a B.Tech second year student who was a cricket betting organiser of IPL-V and recovered Rs 13,000 cash, a BPL-India 21 inches colour TV along with remote and a Nokia mobile phone from him.According to police, on a tip off, the Task Force police arrested the engineering student, Ronak Mandhana (21), while accepting the betting amount in Afzalgunj police station limits from known and unknown punters over his mobile phone. The student organised betting for IPL match between Kings-XI Punjab Vs Chennai Super Kings teams in Chapauk Stadium at Chennai on Saturday. Mandhana is a student of Bharat Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam and a resident of Gowliguda. Additional DCP, Task Force, Suhas Chaturvedi said Mandhana took to cricket betting to lead a lavish life.“He collected contact numbers of punters and contacted them over their cell phones in the city and has been organising cricket betting in an organised manner at his friend’s room located at Gowliguda in the absence of the latter,’’ the Additional DCP said. The apprehended, along with the seized property, was handed over to Afzalgunj police for further action.
