Call to amend Kerala Apartment Ownership Act

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Apartment Ownership Act should be amended suiting the needs of the time, said Kerala High Court retired justice J M James here on Sunday. He was inaugurating a seminar on ‘Practical approach of Kerala State Apartment Ownership Act’ organised by the Federation of Apartment Owners’ Association.The retired justice stressed the need to implement the Apartment Ownership Act considering the growing urban and apartment culture. The original Act that was passed in 1983 has a lot of limitations. The Government should take adequate measures to implement the Act with required amendments, he said.
