ANANTAPUR/HYDERABAD: Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday carried out searches in the house of Gali Janardhan Reddy’s driver.In a related development, CBI sleuths opened bank lockers of the Gali brothers in Bellary and reportedly foundRs 2.5 crore in cash and about 15 kg of gold, while another CBI team visited three mines in Anantapur district.Sources told Express that three teams set out on different missions early this morning.One team went to the house of Janardhan Reddy’s car driver Basha and after searches it found `4 lakh in cash, 2 kg of silver and some documents. The team also searched the premises belonging to former Mines and Geology director VD Rajagopal and seized documents.Another team is understood to have taken Janardhan Reddy’s brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy to Bellary where it opened his two bank lockers and found cash and gold. Unconfirmed reports suggested the CBI team also verified the bank accounts of Obulapuram Mining Company in the State Bank of India branch at D Hirehal village.The third team drove down to the bordering villages where they inspected HM Mines, MBT Mines and Antaragangamma Mines and recorded statements of several villagers.
