ANGUL: One more dengue death was reported from Talcher on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Prafulla Behera who belonged to Tokbeda in Kaniha block and died at Shanti Hospital, Cuttack. The Central team visited Talcher on Saturday to assess the dengue situation. The team visited the MCL Central Hospital where several dengue cases were first reported on July 23. Stressing the need for awareness among locals on the disease, the team asked why so many patients were being rushed to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar which is creating a panic-like situation. Sources said though MCL hospital had the infrastructure to treat dengue patients, some employees of the company opted for super speciality hospitals.The Central team surveyed the Anant coalmine where they found water stored in large area. The team also visited two other villages - Naraharipur and Radharamanpur. They, however, did not go to Kalamchuin village where most of the dengue cases were reported.The team led by CS Agarwal will stay in the district for three more days before moving out to other districts, said CDMO RC Behera.Meanwhile, toll in the district has gone up to 11. Out of 74 patients examined at the MCL Hospital on Friday, 40 tested positive.
