With the courts now inaugurated, all cases of sexual assault, which are ready for trial, will go to the fast-track mode.
New Delhi: Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir on Wednesday inaugurated fast-track courts in south Delhi that would hear the trial in the brutal gangrape and murder case of a 23-year-old paramedical student in a moving bus in the national capital on December 16.
With the courts now inaugurated, all cases of sexual assault, which are ready for trial, will go to the fast-track mode. Also, if the witnesses in a case are produced regularly, the cases will be heard on a day-to-day basis.
All the five fast-track courts, inaugurated by Justice Altamas Kabir, will be functional from Thursday, January 3, 2013.
