HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed district collectors to prioritise provision of drinking water and power to consumers, as well as seven hours uninterrupted power to farmers. Addressing district collectors over a video conference at Secretariat on Wednesday regarding Prajapatham scheduled from April 15 to May 5, he instructed collectors to look into the water and electricity needs of farmers and general public. The chief minister stated that in view of summer, the collectors should ensure drinking water availability in all gram panchayats, wards and immediate relief should be provided by transport and other means. He further stated that power shortage will be overcome, now that the state government has decided to purchase electricity from outside.
