PUDUCHERRY: A country-made bomb was hurled at a history-sheeter while he was having a drink in a bar on Tuesday.Police said Iyyappan, whose name figured in the police record books, was having a drink at the restaurant attached to bar near Anna Salai, when a country-made bomb was hurled at him by an unidentified man. Iyyappan, whose mouth was injured, was taken to the government hospital and was said to be out of danger. Police said Iyyappan was served with a ban order by Odiyansalai police on May 25 this year.Superintendent of Police Anto Alphonse visited the scene of crime along with other top officials.Forensic experts and bomb squad members also inspected the spot. A sniffer dog was also pressed into service. Further investigations are on.
