After the visit by the Yorkshire county team, the Somerset county team and ECB cricket academy players will be touring India.

Mumbai: Even as fans focus their attention on India-South Africa series, there is a group of English cricketers from the county circuit who are in Mumbai on a learning trip.

The nine-member team from Yorkshire includes two former England players, off spinner Richard Dawson and all-rounder Anthony Mcgrath who have been part of the English team recently.

Dawson and Mcgrath say that the Ashes win has helped cricket compete with football for the country?s sporting attention.

Not only players but the coaches also agree that the approach of the English board has been very helpful for the resurgence of English cricket.

Refresher courses for county coaches and contracts for national players are considered to be the reasons behind the recent revival.

Apart from training for eight days in Mumbai, the team will be playing two matches against local teams.

After the visit by the Yorkshire county team, the Somerset county team and ECB cricket academy players will be touring India, which will be good a preparation for England's tour next year.
