Cusack puts a stop on woman stalker
Cusack says his 31-year-old stalker threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if he does not help her.

Los Angels: Actor John Cusack, star of offbeat films as Grosse Point Blank and Being John Malkovich obtained a restraining order on Tuesday against a woman he claims has been stalking him.

The order, which was signed by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge, requires 31-year-old Emily Diane Leatherman to stay at least 500 feet from Cusack, 40, as well as the actor's home, workplace, car and offices.

"This person is showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside and making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to meet with me," Cusack said in his restraining order application.

Cusack said Leatherman threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if he does not help her and that her mail has been arriving at his home.

Representatives for Cusack, who appeared alongside Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall in the iconic 1980s film Sixteen Candles, and later that decade starred in Say Anything, declined to comment.
