BHUBANESWAR: The three anti-socials who had carried out a daring dacoity at a businessman’s house at Jaidurga Nagar four days ago were produced before a local court here on Tuesday. Commissionerate Police on Tuesday put the total seizures from the dacoits at several lakhs. Besides ` 2.90 lakh in cash, gold ornaments of 20 gram, 1 kg silver, a camera and imitation jewellery were recovered from them. The white Scorpio used in the crime has also been seized after arrest of driver Santosh Behera. The other two accused have been identified as Ramesh Mallick and Satyajit Sahu. Mallick belongs to Mirjapur under Jajpur district while Sahu is from Birakishorepur of Puri. Sources said police had made considerable progress in reaching the other four members of the gang which had broken into the house of tiles businessman Nilkamal Bengani on September 30. The armed miscreants who had attempted to terrorise Bengani’s family members and loot cash and gold jewellery was foiled by an alert neighbour who informed the Police Control Room. Subsequently, a team of police reached the spot and afer a dramatic chase, Mallick and Sahu were arrested from the spot.
