Delhi High Court dismisses plea to bring back Netaji's ashes
The Delhi High Court has dismissed a PIL seeking an order to bring back to India Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ashes, currently lying in a museum in Germany.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has dismissed a PIL seeking an order to bring back to India Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ashes, currently lying in a museum in Germany.

A division bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice PS Teji Wednesday refused to entertain the plea, saying the court had earlier decided a similar plea and there was noting new in the plea.

Sharad Tiwari, a social worker, had moved the court, saying the ashes of Bose were lying in a museum in Germany and they should be kept at a public place in India for paying tributes to the freedom fighter.

The plea said: "The ashes of Subhash Chandra Bose to be directed to be brought to India and kept in a public place for paying tributes to late leader for the sacrifices made by him in the freedom struggle of the nation."

The plea further sought an order for submerging of the ashes into the Ganga and also sprinkle atop Himalayas, claiming that the same had been done in cases of other national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
