New Delhi: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Sunday evening near Bara Hindu Rao area in Old Delhi. She has been admitted to the Bara Hindu Rao hospital and is under observation in the Intensive Care Unit.
She will be shifted to normal ward during the day. No major injury has been reported. Accused Gopi Malha has been arrested under Section 376 and sent to judicial custody.
The complaint says that she was playing with her friends in a park near her home in North Delhi when a 25-year-old man approached them and tried to lure them with chocolates. Two other girls were there with her who managed to run away and inform the victim's mother.
The accused ran away when he saw her mother, but was arrested on Monday.
