HYDERABAD: Heads of various departments like GHMC commissioner, collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, HMDA metropolitan commissioner, police commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad, Metro Water Board managing director, APCPDCL managing director, APSRTC managing director, BSNL deputy general manager and South Central Railway general manager preferred to stay away from newly-elected mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain’s Face-to-Face with citizens on Saturday, but sent their representatives to the programme.About a dozen citizens rang up the mayor and poured out their grievances which include illegal construction of houses in government lands at Kukatpally, low-pressure water supply at Gowlipura, lack of road and drainage facilities near Gachibowli, encroachment of roads in Singareni Collieries, illegal construction of an RTC depot at Ramnagar.A caller from Charminar gave some embarassing moments to the mayor by asking him why traffic police were harassing only those who parked their vehicles near a temple but ignore others who parked their vehicles on the road to offer Friday prayers. The caller, Om Prakash urged the mayor to earmark a parking place .
