Lokayukta Police on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against former Health Director, Dr Yogiraj Sharma and five others in the Rs seven core drug kits purchase scam in Madhya Pradesh.
The chargesheet, running into 3700 pages, was filed in the court of special additional sessions Judge, Sanjay Salgaonkar.
The scam took place in 2006 when Sharma was health director.
Under the scheme, several drug kits were purchased for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) health workers under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Besides Sharma, Ashok Nanda, head of IPS School here, and employees of one of his firm, Satyendra Sahoo and Yogesh Pateria, and employees of Karnataka Anti-Biotic Limited, M K Nagendra and Deepak Naigaonkar are also named in the chargesheet.
A complaint was filed with Lokayukta police in this regard in 2009, which later probed the matter.
