Dubai: The controversial killing of a top Hamas leader in a five-star hotel here in January 2010 is set to become a Hollywood movie soon, news reports said.
Sony Pictures has picked the pitch for the upcoming movie titled 'Shadow Runner,' which is loosely based on the events leading to the murder of Hamas military commander Mahmoud Al Mabhouh by a 17-member gang, the Gulf News daily reported.
However, no director or starting date has been finalized yet, it said.
Israeli assassins, who used fake British, Irish and Australian passports to enter Dubai, were subsequently identified on closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) with the footage being broadcast around the world as part of investigations by the Dubai police.
Hollywood trade sources said the high octane action-thriller is expected to star Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, who has also featured in 'Thor,' and written and produced by Iranian Oscar nominee Hussain Amini.
