A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted raids at the residences of jailed Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Irfan Solanki in Kanpur. The ED team, which arrived from Lucknow also raided his brother, Arshad’s residence.
Raids are underway at multiple locations in Kanpur.

According to reports, the raids were conducted based on multiple FIRs of land grabbing, the Gangster Act, fake Aadhaar card cases, etc.
Irfan Solanki has been lodged in jail for the past year over accusations by a woman of attempting to encroach upon a plot. A total of 17 cases have been filed against Solanki so far.
As per reports, a search operation is also going on at the house of builder Haji Wasi, who is said to be a close aide of MLA Irfan Solanki. Wasi is an accused in the arson attack in Kanpur in 2022, along with several other persons of Bangladeshi origin.
