New Delhi: Another education loan racket has been busted in Delhi. One person has been arrested for duping 30 students of over Rs 2 crore.
It’s yet another education-related scam unearthed in the capital in two days.
The Delhi police say they've arrested one person who duped more than 30 students of roughly Rs 2 crore.
On Sunday, the Delhi police busted a gang that had duped more than 500 students by promising to provide them with educational loans. Eight people have been arrested in that case.
The two cases, however, are not related. The first one is about educational loans – the gang of eight people was offering students loans. They would flee afterwards with the deposit money leaving the students in the lurch.
The education racket that has been busted on Monday involves a person by the name of Shashi Kant Sharma who offers seats to students in private and government colleges. Sharma used to offer students seats in exchange of cash and disappeared afterwards.
In one of the cases Sharma cheated a student of as much as Rs 13 lakh.
