VISAKHAPATNAM: Eight people were injured, including three critically, in a fire mishap at Durganagar of HB colony in the city on Friday. The fire was caused by LPG cylinder leak.According to sources, the incident occurred in C Chandraiah's residence.On Thursday night, his wife Papayamma forgot to switch off the regulator of the gas cylinder and went to bed.The gas leak went unnoticed while one of the family members woke up at around 4 a.m and lit a match. Consequently, the entire house was engulfed in fire. The burnt asbestos roof of the house fell down injuring eight persons of the family.Chandraiah and his grandchildren C Srinu and Y Bhaskar were critically injured and admitted to King George hospital in the city.Police said the injured were daily wage workers belonging to Omi village of Nellimarla mandal of Vizianagaram district.Police have registered a case and investigation was on.
