New Delhi: Normally, you don’t expect the multiplex crowd to throw coins on the screen, but they did. People don’t dance in front of the projector and screen in metropolitans, but they did. Cautiously dressed spectators don’t scream on top of their lungs ‘Salman, Salman, look at me’, but they did. The hysteria and madness around Salman Khan is mesmerising.
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was more or less a hit even before its release. As per speculations, the satellite and TV rights have fetched an amount equal to the film’s budget, which is Rs 75 crore. The trends at the advance booking window suggest the earning of around Rs 30-35 crore on the very first day. Mixed, mostly positive, reviews will ensure more footfalls in coming days.
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is a better film than ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ready’ due to an imaginative director and some breathtaking action sequences. These facts will inspire the typical Salman Khan fans to celebrate his superstardom more.

It’s not an easy thing to figure out the real logic behind Salman Khan’s success, but it seems his indifference towards his public image is one of them. He looked bore to the core in his interviews during the promotion of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. His body language clearly stated, ‘Look, I don’t give a damn about what you say, the film is going to be a hit’. Salman’s single status keeps his position of ‘the eligible bachelor’ intact, a fit body added charm to the fact.
After the success of ‘Wanted’, Salman decided to make action his forte. The new generation of Bollywood actors are mostly seen as lover-boys, and veterans such as Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn venture more into comedies these days, so the place for the ultimate action hero was vacant, he filled it.

Salman’s rustic and raw public image helped him in emerging as an action hero, his ‘well crafted’ toughness makes the fans empathetic towards him. Much publicized break-ups and occasional public outbursts presented him as someone who is vulnerable and soft under his rugged skin.

The fact that Yash Raj and Salman Khan have colloborated for the first time makes ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ an interesting watch for the audiences. After ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ready’, people were not hoping for a slick film, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ proved them wrong and emerged as a film with good production values. This prompted a positive word of mouth publicity right after the first show.
Katrina Kaif and Salman’s sweet-bitter relationship was a major highlight of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, the makers encashed it and made sure that they remain on the screen in almost every frame.

Exotic locales and glossy tale of a spy, who is also a superstar, gave the people a complete ‘masala’ entertainer. Good looking people made up for the lack of logics and realism.
Salman’s ‘I don’t care’ attitude has done it for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. The film is a super-success. The only question is whether it’s going to be the highest grosser of the Hindi film industry or not.####
