Encounter case goes to CBCID

CHENNAI: The police encounter case in which five bank robbery suspects were gunned down two days back in Velachery has been transferred from the Chennai City Police to the nodal agency Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Branch (CBCID) on Saturday. Police said that the TN DGP Ramanujam has ordered that the investigation be completed in 15 days and a report submitted. Police sources said the order issued by the DGP said that the Chennai City Police has to submit all documents in connection with the case, including the FIR, documents and evidences to CBCID ADGP Narindra Pal Singh. It was also said that the investigation should be completed in 15 days.
