CHENNAI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should make public the three American funded NGOs, which are fuelling the protests, and initiate action against them rather than merely making accusations, according to BJP national spokesman Prakash Javadekar.“If the allegations are real, the PM should make it clear which organisations were funded,” Javadekar told reporters here on Monday. He said the PM never explained how much money had come in. “Since the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 is issued by the Home Ministry, what was the government doing?” said Javadekar. “It is not in keeping with the status of the PM to make allegations without substantiating them,” said Javadekar. He also said the BJP is not against the Koodankulam nuclear plant but wants the government to allay the fears of the people. Post-Fukushima, even Germany has given up nuclear energy and has gone in for renewable energy, he said.
