As Lok Sabha elections 2024 come to a close on June 1, top government sources have told CNN-News18 that a fake narrative against India is being spread by an Israel company. Sources say that it is a matter of serious concern.
Sources in the Central Government have also said that they were aware that such a narrative was built on social media but it has now been confirmed by Meta itself.
The government sources say that the credentials of the company “clearly suggest” that they are involved with opposition parties in Israel and Europe. “We are in touch with our counterparts in Israel to know more,” sources told CNN-News18.
The matter is being investigated by the government and probe will verify if it is being done by opposition parties in India or some international agencies or countries are involved in spreading the narrative.
“These type of alerts were issued time to time in the past as many countries in the world don’t want Narendra Modi to return as Prime Minister for third time,” sources added.
The results of the Lok Sabha election 2024 will be declared on June 4. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that it will win over 370 seats this election, a claim countered by the Opposition.
