A hacker group calling themselves Scriptkiddies had broken into the account.
New Delhi: Fox News is the latest high profile victim of a hacking attack. The Fox News Politics account on Twitter (@foxnewspolitics) was hacked into and a number of fake tweets saying that US President Barack Obama had been assassinated were posted.
According to Mashable, a hacker group calling themselves Scriptkiddies had broken into the account.
While Fox News managed to regain control over the account, the group struck back posting new tweets.
High profile hacking incidents have been on the rise of late with groups such as Anonymous and the now disbanded LulzSec stepping up operations.
