HYDERABAD: Two days after Chiranjeevi had declared that he would not act in movies any longer and devote full time to politics, a large number of his fans staged a dharna near his residence here on Thursday and demanded that he act at least in one movie to complete 150 films in his acting career.Rashtra Chiranjeevi Yuvata president Mekala Ravindra Babu held a meeting at PRP’s office with the demand that Chiranjeevi act in movies while remaining in politics.After the meeting, the fans proceeded to Chiranjeevi’s residence and staged a dharna there. The mega star was away from home when the demonstration was held.His brother and actorproducer Nagababu met the demonstrators and tried to assuage their disappointment over Chiranjeevi’s decision.It may be recalled that Chiranjeevi has announced recently that he will not act in movies hereafter and his decision to quit films for a plunge into politics is final.“Acting in a couple of movies will not be a hurdle to his political career,” Nagababu said and added that Chiranjeevi should consider the demand of his fans. “I will try to convince him in this regard,” he said.Several months ago Chiranjeevi had announced that he would do the 150th movie and his son Ram Charan Teja even planned to produce it. Chiranjeevi also said that his 150th movie would have all commercial elements besides giving a social message. Chiru Agrees to Two More FilmsBehaving like a true politician, Chiranjeevi on late Thursday night changed his mind and announced that he would act in two more films.At a cine function late in the night in the city, the actor-turned-politician said that Puri Jagannath will be the director for his 150th movie which would also star Amitabh Bacchan in a guest role. Chiranjeevi also announced that Ramgopal Verma would direct his 151st film. Two days ago, Chiranjeevi had announced his retirement from films as he wanted to concentrate on politics.
