Fed up of 'incessant' questioning, man shoots wife dead

A 30-year-old woman was on Tuesday shot dead by her husband in the Uttar Pradesh capital, police said.

The incident took place at Kursi Road in Lucknow when, apparently fed up by the incessant questioning of his wife on coming home late, wood merchant Mustakeem shot Noor Bano and fled the scene.

Family members said verbal spats between the couple were nothing new but they had never anticipated that the heated exchanges would come to such a stage.

Married for a decade, the couple had a seven-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son.

The two children and the brother of the woman were at home when the incident took place and were witnesses to the crime, police said.

The husband is still at large.
