Film city to be set up at Ottappalam

PALAKKAD: A film city is proposed to be set up at Kanniampuram in Ottappalam utilising the four acres of land acquired for the Kanhirapuzha irrigation scheme.“The film city is proposed to be set up with  private participation. A meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday in this regard  decided to speed up the process of transferring the land and preparing the project report. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy also attended the meeting,” said Ottappalam MLA M Hamza, who attended the meeting.Ottappalam is one of the favourite locations for film shooting. There are houses such as the Varikkassery Mana and Kunnath Veedu which are permanently rented out for film shooting.
