A private helicopter carrying three French heli-skiers lost contact with ground control staff near Srinagar on Friday.
Srinagar: A private helicopter carrying three French nationals, who were on a heli-skiing expedition in Sonamarg area of the valley, has lost contact with ground control staff on Friday, officials said.
The chopper, belonging to a private tour operator with the French nationals on board lost contact with ground staff as it was passing over a mountain range in Gund area of Sonamarg, 80 kms from Srinagar, the officials said.
They said that the foreign tourists were on a heli-skiing expedition in the region.
Indian Air Force has pressed its choppers into service to trace the missing helicopter, the officials added.
