Mumbai: In a bid to stand out from the rest of the Ganesha idols in the city, Fortcha Icchapurti Ganesh has been adorned with 60 kgs pure gold. The nine foot tall statue exuding grandeur is among the most spectacular idols in the city.
The Pandal also boasts of having 60 idols of Ganpati from across the world including countries like Cambodia, Malyasia, Japan, Rome, London, Bangkok and Paris among others.
Since South Mumbai's Icchapurti Ganesh Mandal completed 60 years of organizing the Ganpati Festival this year, they wanted to do something to reckon with and Ravi Surve, one of the organisers worked on the concept for two years before they came up with this.
The Pandal is lush and made of eco-friendly materials. The visitors were left spell-bound as they saw the 60 various Ganpati idols imported from across the world.
