Gang loots 22 sovereigns

TIRUPUR: Burglars made away with 22.5 sovereigns and Rs 12,000 cash from a house here on Wednesday.As per police sources, R Kannusamy (69), a garment trader residing at Pethichettipuram, Rayapuram, was running a shop at Kadhar Pettai. On Tuesday, he was at the shop, while the other occupants were away.  This was when the burglars struck, gaining entry into through an unlocked back door. They stole 22.5 sovereigns of gold and `12,000 cash kept inside a bureau. A case has been filed.
