THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no need to move from one government office to another to get the service of various departments in the state anymore. As part of providing easy, anywhere, anytime access and reducing the number of visits of citizens to government offices a State Service Delivery Gateway project will be implemented under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). This will reduce the administrative burden and service fulfillment time and costs for the government, citizens and businesses. The direct interaction of citizen with the government will come down and encourage ‘e’-interaction which will be a more efficient communication through portal.Kerala IT Mission has already approached the Union IT Ministry with the proposal to implement the service delivery gateway. There is no common gateway now and this will help in providing all the services of the government through the portal. IT Mission director A Shajahan said that the State Portal will also host all the electronic forms for various government services accessible to citizens in the state. A citizen would be able to fill the form electronically (both online and offline) through Internet services including Common Service Centre (CSCs) outlets and submit the application electronically. A citizen will be able to track the status of the application/request at any point of time. Portal development will include development of a complete application for electronic receipt of forms by the destination office, MIS, printing, accounting, status reporting, query service and payment handling. This will also promote uniform web interface across government and build synergies with the National Portal of India (NPI) using the National Service Delivery Gateway. The portal will provide information about government departments, line ministries, and web links to these departments. The portal would primarily be available in Malayalam and English. Though the technology shall be available round the clock, functional support might be available only during the normal working day. It will facilitate synchronisation and co-ordination of inter departmental working and can track all transactions of the government.
