Bhopal: It was an embarrassing day for the BJP in Bhopal. The party?s newly-appointed General Secratary Uma Bharti stormed out of the meeting that was called to elect Shivraj Chauhan as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Soon after the meeting announcing Chauhan?s candidature, Uma's supporters went on a rampage outside the venue shouting slogans and obstructing traffic.
Uma also came out very vocally against the BJP for going against the protocol and electing a and made public her anger.
The drama was heightened by media reports saying she had called up Arun Jaitley threatening him that she would commit suicide if denied the CM?s chair.

And in her battle against the BJP top brass, Uma has received a helping hand from former BJP General Secretary KN Govindacharya who accused BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley of character assassination.
Govidacharya has always been a stauch Uma-supporter. He, however, denied reports that he had conveyed Uma?s suicide threat to Jaitely.
"Bharati had told me that Jaitley was not picking up the phone and she wanted to speak to him. I communicated the same to him. Let him (Jaitley) say on record if I had said anything further."
Govindacharya also hinted that she will continue to fight for her rights in the party. He also accused Jaitley of character assassination.
"Umaji is a competent woman who has been incarnated for a special purpose and Arun Jaitley is trying to assassinate her character by spreading lies about a suicide note."
