CHENNAI: Dr A V Srinivasan, who has contributed immensely to the world of medical literature and in the field of practical management of patients of Parkinson’ disease has been elected to the Royal College of Physicians as a Fellow, for the year 2012. The 59-year-old Srinivasan has numerous achievements to his name. He pursued his MBBS and specialised in General Medicine at Madras Medical College and has been closely associated with the research on movement disorders since 1993. He has been a research guide for the dissertation of DM postgraduates. He was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine and allied specialities for his thesis titled ‘Clinical Conundrum of Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome’ in October 2002. He has conducted a lot of research on Parkinson’s disease. “The paper on this research helps us to plan speech therapy for Parkinson’s patients. This is my original work and my contribution to the world literature is of considerable importance in the practical management of Parkinson’s patients,” said Srinivasan. The special meeting for the Fellows will be held at the Royal College of Physicians on July 11, 2012.
