Jaipur: As the Gujjar agitation over quota in jobs enters its seventh day on Wednesday, the Rajasthan High Court has stepped in and directed railway, police officials to get rail, road blockades cleared.
The High Court has asked for a compliance report by Thursday.
The remarks came even as there is no breakthrough in sight as the third round of talks between Gujjar leaders and the state government have been postponed. The talks are set to resume at 5 PM on Wednesday.
Himmat Singh, a Gujjar leader, said, "The Rajasthan government is preparing a draft based on our demands. We will come to know of our next plan of action at 5 PM."
Gujjar leaders had earlier claimed that the government did not come prepared for the meeting.
Protesters are seeking quota for government jobs within the 50 per cent cap issued by the Supreme Court. The protesters continue to block the Delhi-Mumbai rail route and the National Highway 11 at Dausa.
