Hailstorm hits Vellore

VELLORE: Heavy rain and hailstorm lashed the fort city on Monday. Showers were experienced at various points of time accross the district. Rain in Vellore began at 3 pm and lasted an hour. Hailstorm was also reported in some places.Overflowing drains affected traffic in many areas and knee-deep water was reported at most low-lying areas. The rainfall recorded between 8 am on Sunday and 8 am on Monday at Vaniyambadi is 13.4 mm, Alangayam - 14.4 mm, Arakkonam - 13.2 mm, Vellore - 12 mm and Ambur - 22.4 mm.
